Mirror system connectivity among macaques, chimpanzees and humans was compared (with DTI). Humans had more temporal–parietal and frontal–parietal connections. Additionally, superior parietal cortex connections were detected only in humans. The authors linked species differences in mirror system connectivity with species differences in (e.g., imitation and social learning of tool use).
